Skills: Branding, Graphic Design
The choice of typeface for the series was inspired by the graphic design that’s currently coming out of New York and aims to reflect the vibe of the city. The elongated type treatment for Ghosts aims to convey the theme of unease, tension, and suspense found within the novel. Blue and white consume the negative space of the black typeface, reflecting the protagonist/ antagonist relationship of the characters.
For the City of Glass, a more literal approach was taken. Perspective and dimension was forced upon the typeface which works well in the novel’s context, and also helps to unify the series by continuing the aesthitic theme of height to signify tension.
